Mini Cooper and VW Polos on offer for successful candidates

A recruitment drive seeking leggy candidates for "the most romantic job" has started for a matchmaking company that connects millionaires with girls.

The hunt kicked off on May 15 for employment with Golden Bachelor Matchmakers, offering the lucky winner a 250,000-yuan annual salary and a Mini Cooper.

The rules of the competition insist that participants are between 165 cm and 173 cm tall, aged between 20 and 28, with sweet and elegant personalities. And they must be single.

Their main job responsibility will be to find suitable matches for millionaires, themselves not included.

In addition to a Mini Cooper, the organizer will also provide three Volkswagen Polos to candidates who can recommend the right kind of woman to excite the company's clients.

"We hope the event can bring attention, and also talent, to our company," said Zhang Yongqing, chief advisor of Golden Bachelor Matchmakers.

She said the recruitment drive has already received more than 1,000 applications from women in seven major cities, most recently 150 from Beijing.

"It's important that high-end matchmakers look good and act nicely. We hope they can recommend their friends to meet our wealthy clients," Zhang said, in response to a question about the age and marriage requirements of participants.

"Many people think we are just being sensational, but it is a real recruitment exercise. The Mini Cooper and three Polos are waiting in the company's underground garage."

A manager in a jewelry store surnamed Zhu has already applied.

"I expect the competition to be very fierce," she said.

"Being a matchmaker seems like a happy profession."

The 28-year-old said she would also take the opportunity to look for love of her own.

"My work runs from Monday to Saturday so I have no time for dating," she said.

A Shanghai civil servant surnamed Lin learned of the recruitment after wondering into the company's website by accident.

"I know a lot of suitable single women. If things go well and I get the award, it would be a win-win situation," she said.
